What is ADSS Cable?

ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) optical fiber cable is a specialized cable designed for aerial installations on utility power lines. It is entirely non-metallic, allowing it to be installed in high-voltage environments without the risk of conductivity. The cable's construction provides robust self-support between structures, making it an efficient and cost-effective alternative to OPGW and OPAC cables.

Structure and Design

Our ADSS cable features a compact, stranded core design. The optical fibers are housed within loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic and filled with a water-resistant compound to prevent moisture ingress. A non-metallic Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) central strength member provides core stability. The cable's exceptional tensile strength is achieved by surrounding the core with aramid yarn, and it is finished with a durable PE or AT sheath.

The quantity of aramid yarn and the stranding process are specifically designed to meet the demands of various span lengths.
